PURPOSE OF POSITION: To effectively maintain, monitor, and support a Geographic Information System (GIS) for Carroll EMC.
MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS: The following requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or other employees.
REQUIRES:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in GIS, geography or another geoscience-related field.
- Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS software suite and Autodesk AutoCAD software is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint is required.
- A minimum of (1) year experience in GIS is required. Preferred experience with an electric utility.
- Experience managing and completing post processing of GPS data as well as data collection preferred.
- Experience with Futura GIS is preferred.
- Ability to develop knowledge of Cooperative’s equipment and materials, policies, procedures, RUS specifications, and National Electric Safety Code requirements for construction and maintenance of the electric distribution system.
- Ability to perform all GIS/drafting functions with minimum supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass Carroll EMC’s employment entrance examination and drug screen.
