Deputy Sheriff

A full-time, forty-hour per week (including nights, weekends, and holidays), the Deputy Sheriff position is located in Ossipee, New Hampshire, the County Seat of Carroll County,

The rate of pay will be determined based on Law Enforcement experience, certifications, or education position is a Group II pension in the NH Retirement System and has a comprehensive benefit package as listed in the union contract.

The duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

1. Having a working knowledge of the division assigned to.

2. Handling any calls that may be given by the Carroll County Communications Center.

3. Completing all reports in a timely manner.

4. Having knowledge of Carroll County.

5. Handling any services of civil process.

6. Knowing and following the Policies and Procedures, as set forth by the Sheriff.

7. Maintaining the equipment and cruiser assigned to them by the Sheriff.

8. Attending any and all training sessions that are assigned by the Sheriff or his designee.

9. Having knowledge of the statutes of the State of New Hampshire.

Minimum Qualifications for a Deputy Sheriff will be as follows:

• High school diploma or a certified equivalent.
• A valid New Hampshire operator’s license.
• If not currently NH certified, being able to satisfactorily complete the New Hampshire Police Officers Training Academy Certification
• Be able to pass the physical fitness requirements set by NHPST
• Pass an Extensive Background check, Medical Exam and Psychological Exam
• Be twenty-one years of age or older.
