Accounts Receivable

Carroll Construction Supply is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our corporate team in Ottumwa, IA. In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely, professional interactions with our customers and management. Key Responsibilities

• Distribution of customer invoices and statements via mail and email
• Record customer payments via cash, check, and credit card transactions and matching to invoices written by Carroll stores.
• Reconcile all accounts receivable reports to bank statements and ensure payments are properly recorded and discrepancies promptly resolved.
• Manage reconciling issues by communicating with store managers and customers via phone and email.
• Provide backup support to Accounts Receivable department by answering phones and assisting with payments and customer inquiries.
• Communicate with customers regarding billing discrepancies and questions
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Collaborate with sales department to address lien waivers
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Strong ability to calculate, post, and manage financial data accurately
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
• Excellent communication skills — verbal, written, and listening
• Proficient Keyboarding with speed and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management abilities with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong knowledge of Accounting principles
• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
