Salary Range: $52,015 to $88,475
*salaries vary based on education, licensure, additional COMS certification and relevant experience
About Us
Each year, the Carroll Center for the Blind helps nearly 1,300 blind or visually impaired children, adults, and senior citizens gain the skills they need to live active and fulfilling lives. Our Newton campus houses our rehabilitation program, computer training classes, low vision store, and administrative offices. A large portion of our programs are services conducted in public schools, students’ homes, and their communities.

Responsibilities
-Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments in compliance with DESE/IDEA.
-Interpret medical reports and contribute to IEP goals, accommodations, and instructional strategies.
-Recommend and coordinate specialized evaluations, assistive technology, and resources.
-Consult with staff and families on assessments, modifications, testing accommodations, and vocational planning.
-Procure and develop accessible materials (braille, enlarged/recorded text, tactile symbols) and recommend classroom modifications.
-Provide instruction in assistive technology and Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) areas.
-Train and support teams and families to promote student independence and access.
-Participate in transition planning, maintain required documentation, attend IEP meetings, and serve as liaison to Carroll Center.
