The Assembler in the Recycling Department will be responsible for the efficient assembly and refurbishment of reels for recycling. This role involves using various tools to repair, assemble, and ensure the quality of recycled reels. The ideal candidate should have an eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. The Assembler must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Reel Assembly and Repair: Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to assemble, repair, and refurbish reels.

Work Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to efficiently assemble and recycle reels.

Quality Control: Conduct quality checks throughout the recycling and assembly process to ensure standards are met. Identify and separate defective parts for proper disposal or further action.

Workspace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow all company and department procedures, including OSHA safety standards, to create a safe work environment.

Reel Building Process: Learn and perform all aspects of the reel recycling process, including assembling precut parts, cutting cardboard tubes, and using various tools such as nail guns and saws.

Reporting and Communication: Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or unusual situations to management immediately.

Flexibility: Perform other duties as needed or requested by management to support the department and plant needs.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting preferred
- For safety reasons, you must be 18 years or older to be considered.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to stand, bend, twist/squat, push, pull, reach during entire shift.
- Must be able to work in hot/ cold warehouse environment.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving, stacking, and wrapping reels. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, and personal protective equipment is required (ear plugs, safety glasses, steel toe work shoes at minimum).
This position requires constant standing, walking, bending, and moving back and for in the production line. Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, with reaching, pulling, pushing.
Base Rate: $17
