What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist, Assumption, Retail Lending position at Carrington?

Responsible for providing quality customer service to borrowers and sellers, reviews files for adherence to minimum document requirements, ensuring completeness of submission. Obtains necessary information (i.e., loan applications, credit documents, etc.) to submit mortgage assumption files. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. The target base pay is $24.47/hr.
What you’ll do:
- Receives and review assumption loan submissions, monitors incoming documents, and verifies data submitted by borrowers.
- Obtains necessary information (i.e., loan applications, divorce decree, purchase agreement etc.) to process and complete assumption mortgage loan files.
- Partner with operations staff to ensure expedient process of file flow.
- Discuss steps involved in the assumption process with prospective and current customers.
- Manage the loan process according to current legal and company guidelines and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Participate in ensuring loans are following Carrington guidelines, applicable state and federal regulations, and investor requirements.
- Organizes and inputs loan information received into the company’s Loan Origination System (LOS).
- Proactively monitors pipeline to ensure timely follow up of loans.
- Assists departmental support staff when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
- Maintains highly confidential information in accordance with Company’s privacy policy concerning borrower’s information (concerning borrower’s confidential information)
- Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of all aspects of mortgage loan processing function and underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong skill in the use of office machines such as computer, copiers, fax machines.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Requires extremely high level of organizational skills and ability to work on several tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain constant contact with borrower and internal office staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to handle detailed assignments.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
