Summary
The Director or Associate Director of Career Services provides oversight of the day-to-day functions of the Career Services department. The position is responsible for adherence to all Career Services policies and procedures. Manages, develops, and trains campus Career Services associates. The position is accountable for achieving campus benchmarks for externship setup, employment start dates, and placement rates.
This position requires autonomy in daily performance and the ability to make refined judgments, applying specialized knowledge of career services processes, procedures, and practices. The role requires detailed knowledge of student management databases and other college systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, ongoing training, development, and performance management of all Career Services team members, ensuring a high level of customer service and performance.
- Conducts monthly formal observations of Career Services Advisors to support their coaching and development.
- Maintaining compliance with all policies, overall processes, and procedures for the campus Career Services department
- Manages adherence to workflows that lead to improved activity metric performance and increased placement rate.
- Collaborate with the home office to set employment start goals and monitor achievement of set metrics
- Monitors the daily activity of Career Services staff
- Management of employment documentation discrepancies to achieve compliance and minimum discrepancy benchmark
- Prepares and conducts performance evaluations for Career Services staff
- May manage own caseload of students and the graduate life cycle
- Manages career services, employer and student engagement events
- Attend various meetings to support the Career Services department
- Maintains compliance with all externship policies and practices for the campus career services department
- Ensure that all externship students are set up in sites on time that meet program requirements.
- Monitors compliance with campus-level affiliation agreements.
- Leads and supports campus goals and initiatives by supporting activities, events, and graduation ceremonies.
- Engages with the entire College Campus community, cross-departmental meetings, events and activities as appropriate.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for the Career Service team. Duties include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving issues with discretion and independent judgment.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate Degree required
- Minimum of 3 years of job development, career services, outbound sales or agency recruiting experience.
- Superior organizational, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
