Carpinteria Unified School District is hiring a Payroll/Health Benefits Technician to serve in a 12 month confidential position within the District Office.
The position comes with medical, dental, and vision benefits and life insurance.
School District experience is highly desired.
The Payroll/Health Benefits Technician requires specific training in the computation of a variety of technical/clerical payroll transactions, working knowledge of payroll-related computer programs, payroll posting procedures, and general accounting data entry to document and process payroll and benefits plan transactions. The Payroll/Health Benefits Technician is expected to process certificated and classified payrolls. Payroll/Health Benefits Technician requires a complete understanding of certificated and classified payroll systems along appropriate laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
The position typically requires completion of a high school plus college level curriculum in bookkeeping and 5 years experience in the maintenance of financial, and or payroll records. Alternatively, the position can require two years of college in a business, accounting, or similar discipline requiring math and 2 years of experience.
