JOURNEYMAN, PAINTER
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years painting experience
- Valid Mississippi motor vehicle operator’s license
- Experience in air and airless equipment
- Proven painter II performance responsibilities
- Must be insurable by the company that provides insurance for all Jackson Public School drivers
- Applicant must submit to and pass drug screening test as outlined by district policy

Job Goal
To insure all facilities are constructed and maintained in a manner consistent with the highest standards of efficiency, safety, economy, and quality.
Essential Functions
- Mixes and matches paint to obtain desired color and consistency
- Estimates quantities and time for assigned projects
- Demonstrates proficiency with air and airless equipment
- Repairs and/or finishes sheetrock
- Removes damaged plaster and repairs to original condition
- Finishes furniture
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
