Quality Lab Technician IV Position Description: Prepares samples for analysis/examination and carries out a diversified range of metrological services. Performs mechanical tests on specialized equipment, such as hardness testing, tension, tensile, resistivity, etc. Performs dimensional and magnetic tests as required to evaluate product quality performance. Prepares and submits customer-required dimensional reports in accordance with AS9100 or similar quality management systems. Collects and records test data obtained during product quality evaluation. Makes recommendations to site leadership based on recorded test data. Responsible for tasks related to directing, training, and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Met Lab. Participates in the product development process where it involves measurement methodology and dimensional requirements. Facilitates the movement of products into and out of the Met Lab. Facilitates the completion of quality tests and relevant training requirements. Participates in and contributes to quality audits, both customer and internal. Participates in site improvement projects. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned. Position Requirement: Education and/or Training: High School diploma required. Relevant Work Experience: Five or more years of relevant experience. Anticipates and recommends changes to current processes to respond to customer needs. Provides guidance to others and coordinates the work of teams. Acts as a facilitator to resolve conflicts within a team. May be required to act as a team leader within own area or department; does not supervise.
