Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Quality Control Inspector to work out of our Waggaman, LA location. We are seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Control Inspector to support our production operations and ensure every part leaving our facility meets the highest standards.
Essential Duties:
- Perform in‑process, first‑article, and final inspections of fabricated steel components
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, gauges, etc.
- Verify weld quality in accordance with AWS standards (visual inspection)
- Document nonconformances and support root‑cause and corrective‑action activities
- Work closely with production, welding, and engineering teams to maintain quality expectations
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer specifications, and safety standards
- Maintain accurate inspection records in the QC system
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in steel fabrication, welding, machining, or manufacturing required
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Familiarity with welding standards (AWS D1.1 preferred)
- Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft products required (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot defects
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced shop environment
- Prior QC/QA experience is a plus (not required—will train the right candidate)
Days/Shift:
- Monday thru Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
