Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Industrial Pricing Analyst (Estimator) to work out of our office in Waggaman, LA. Estimators prepare bid proposals for customers using cost estimates and price structures. Will also perform technical and commercial evaluations of customer requirements, interpret piping drawings and be capable of estimating technical designs.
Essential Duties:
Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Industrial Pricing Analyst (Estimator) to work out of our office in Waggaman, LA. Estimators prepare bid proposals for customers using cost estimates and price structures. Will also perform technical and commercial evaluations of customer requirements, interpret piping drawings and be capable of estimating technical designs.
Essential Duties:
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering vendor quotes, detail drawings, piping drawings, specifications, and related RFQ documents.
- Identifies labor, material, buy out requirements by studying vendor quotes, drawings, specifications, and related RFQ documents. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, reviews design drawings and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Presents quotes to clients based upon their technical and commercial requirements, to an accurate professional standard.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications.
- Use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
- 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Previous experience with pipe supports, pipe support takeoffs, and/or wastewater projects a plus
- Bachelors Degree in a Business related field or a similar background with experience in estimating steel fabrication, pipe supports, or experience in estimating wastewater projects, take-offs.
- Or a CAD Drafter with experience in the pipe support field
- Or a combination of experience and education.
- Proficient in basic math skills including computation, fractions, percentages, basic measurements to include basic geometry and trigonometry.
- Extensive knowledge of pipe supports, pipe hanger take-offs, and other product offerings related to pipe support design a plus.
- Have strong computer software skills, ability to learn applications quickly.
- Team player mentality a must; communication, collaboration, and motivation to follow through are critical.
- Be able to work quickly and efficiently without constant supervision.
