Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time HR Administrative Assistant to work out of one of our offices in Donora, PA. The HR Administrative Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department as well as the local branch.

Essential Duties HR:
  • Manage the recruitment process, including drafting external job postings, sourcing candidates, and screening applicants. Collaborate with local branch leadership to identify staffing needs.
  • Conducts and/or assists with new hire onboarding including benefit enrollment.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees related to standard policies, benefits,
  • hiring processes, etc.
Essential Duties Administration:
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and route callers appropriately.
  • Prints customer orders for production and enters orders into the AS400 system.
  • Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance determining the most economical and efficient shipping method.
  • Prepare Bills of Lading; check items to be shipped against work orders for accuracy.
  • Trace lost shipments including customer claims and initiate proof of delivery documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Days/Shift:
  • Monday thru Friday 7:30am-3:30pm
Ideal Candidate:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines including detailed oriented.
  • Knowledgeable with PA state labor laws, regulations, and best practice.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS and other computer applications such as Dayforce, AS400 and Microsoft.
Education and Experience:
  • Prior experience in all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly referred
  • Prior related office experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
