Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Design Engineer/Mechanical Engineer to work out of one of our offices in Donora, PA. The Design Engineer coordinates with sales, estimating, purchasing, & fabrication to engineering jobs meet quality standards & design.
Essential Duties:
- Apply principles of mechanics of materials, heat transfer, and material sciences.
- Drafting and implementing destructive test procedures (pipe supports) which follow MSS SP-58 guidelines.
- Design and fabrication of shop testing rigs and/or fixtures.
- Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods, testing properties.
- Estimating on conceptual design jobs including material takeoff and value engineering.
- Document Control: Updating the design records for ISO9001 Quality plan.
- Interaction with customers in regard to the technical aspects of their project.
Days/Shift:
- Monday thru Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Ideal Candidate:
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certificate holder
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software – Solidworks, Ansys
- Experience with Design and analysis of piping systems and supports.
- Software Requirements: Windows OS, Microsoft Excel & Word, AutoCAD 2D, Solidworks 3D
