As an Area Manager for Carpenter & Costin, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the clients, operations, projects, and teams within a designated geographical area. Your primary goal will be to ensure efficient execution of landscape projects, maintain high-quality standards, manage client relationships, and drive business growth within the region. The role demands exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate and manage multiple teams and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, supervise, coach and train multiple teams including landscape supervisors, crew leaders, team members, within the designated area.
  • Foster a positive work environment, provide guidance, and support team members to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, training sessions, and coaching to enhance team capabilities.

  • Operational Oversight:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations including scheduling, resource allocation, and project management to ensure timely and efficient project completion.

    • Monitor and manage project budgets, costs, and expenses to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.

    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.

  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

    • Address client concerns or complaints promptly, ensuring resolutions that align with company policies and maintain customer satisfaction.

    • Identify opportunities for upselling services or expanding contracts with existing clients.

  • Business Development:

    • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to identify potential clients, develop proposals, and secure new contracts within the area.

    • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer feedback to develop strategies for business growth and market expansion.

    • Participate in networking events, industry conferences, and promotional activities to enhance the company's visibility and reputation.

  • Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare regular reports detailing operational activities, project progress, financial performance, and other key metrics for management review.

    • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and administrative tasks related to projects, expenses, and client communications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture, Business Management, or related field (preferred).

  • Proven experience 3-5 in a managerial role within the landscape or related industry.

  • Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated experience in team management and development.

  • In-depth knowledge of landscape operations, project management, and industry best practices.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able and willing to work extra hours and weekends if needed to meet deadlines and goals. Must be able and willing to work in the field when necessary.

Compensation

-Salary $50,000 - $60,000
