Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Technical Sales and Service Representative at its Richmond location (2400 Richmond Highway). The Technical Sales and Service Representative will be responsible for purchasing and maintaining repair parts for equipment production resale. They use their deep product knowledge to explain difficult technical concepts in simple terms, run product demonstrations, and match specific items to client needs. This position falls within Carpenter Co.'s Tirefill product division and will report to the National Sales Manager, Tirefill Division with daily communication to vendors and customers.
Additional responsibilities of the Technical Sales and Service Representative include:
- Purchase and maintain sufficient levels of repair parts for internal and external equipment production and for re-sale to customers.
- Maintain customer pricing for replacement parts in SAP
- Perform inventory of parts and equipment on a quarterly basis
- Produce delivery note via SAP for customer sales orders
- Fulfill customer parts orders and ship via UPS
- Build new and refurbish various types of Carpenter Tirefill processing equipment
- Provide technical support to customers and Carpenter Sales Team
- Perform equipment repairs at customer's location
- Perform training at customer's location in the safe use of Carpenter's Tirefill processing equipment and products
- Create and submit expense reports and work schedule weekly
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in Technical Sales
- Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to assemble, troubleshoot, repair, and refurbish industrial equipment
- Proficiency with SAP or similar systems for inventory management, pricing, order processing and delivery documentation
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent customer service and ability to build/maintain professional customer relationships
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move equipment and parts weighing up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to work in manufacturing and customer site environments.
- Capable of working with limited supervision
