Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Production Supervisor in our Bedding Manufacturing area at our Temple, Texas plant. This position is responsible for overseeing all areas of the production line, equipment and employees. The Supervisor will also oversee all the lead personnel, hourly employees, and the production of a variety of polyurethane foam products for internal and external customers.

Your additional responsibilities as Production Supervisor will include:

  • Train and manage production employees, oversee the daily workflow and assignments, and coach and provide feedback on productivity.
  • Ensure adherence to safety guidelines, employee handbook, company policies and procedures, and other standards.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance.
  • Maintain orderly and clean work area.
  • Oversee production operation, safe use of equipment, and housekeeping within the department.
  • Produce and analyze reports.
  • Perform and maintain verification of production output according to specifications and standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of processes and equipment.
  • Detect issues in efficiency and suggest improvements; encourage and support continuous improvements.
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot process as needed.
  • Manage and monitor raw materials, inventory, present and future work schedules, workflow and assignments.
  • Provide timely feedback, for direction and development of employees.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative procedures, including data entry/paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills / Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in business administration, manufacturing engineering technology, or similar preferred; or equivalent managerial work experience in manufacturing is required
  • 2-4 years of related manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be forklift certified.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while problem solving and ensuring quality standards are met.
