Carpenter Co. has an immediate 2nd shift opening for a dedicated Operator B Rebond - Grinding to join our production team. This position is located at our manufacturing plant in Temple, Tx.
The Operator B Rebond - Grinding is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial grinder/hog equipment to process material for downstream production teams. In this role, you will ensure a steady supply of processed material ("buns") required to manufacture high-quality, finished carpet cushion products. Initial 4–6-week training on 1st shift while full team is onboarded. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence.
Job Description:
Determine foam material requirements and partner with the Lead Person to align staging with the daily pouring schedule.
Communicate with the Shredder Operator to verify the correct material type is pulled and maintain optimal inventory levels in the storage bins.
Perform pre-production machinery checks, clean grinding magnets, and continuously monitor equipment gauges to maximize operational efficiency.
Accurately track and log daily production data while maintaining standard operating procedures and any assigned auxiliary tasks.
- Observes safety and security procedures, uses equipment properly, and reports potentially unsafe conditions immediately.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Skills / Requirements:
- Highschool or GED
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must have complete required HAZMAT training.
- Must have the knowledge to set proper settings on all machinery controls.
- Must pass an annual audiometric (hearing) and pulmonary (lung) function test.
- Manages competing demands and handles frequent change, delays, or unexpected events smoothly.
- Maintains a clean work environment.
