Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Manager at our manufacturing plant in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading all HR functions at a non‑union manufacturing facility. This role serves as a partner to plant leadership while also providing hands-on support across employee relations, staffing, compliance, performance management, and training and development. The HR Manager ensures a positive employee experience while maintaining compliance with all employment laws and supporting operational goals.

Employee Relations & Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, discipline, and performance management
Foster a positive and respectful workplace culture aligned with company values
Coach supervisors and managers on effective people management, documentation, and communication
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried manufacturing roles
Partner with plant leadership to forecast workforce needs and develop staffing strategies
Build relationships with local schools, trade programs, and community organizations to support talent pipelines
Oversee onboarding and orientation to ensure new hires are successfully integrated
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support
Communicate benefits programs in accordance with company policies
Partner with corporate HR and payroll to ensure accurate employee data, timekeeping, and pay practices
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.)
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
Lead or support audits, reporting, and compliance trainings
Monitor policies and practices to maintain non‑union status through strong employee relations
HR Strategy & Continuous Improvement
Serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on organizational change, workforce challenges, and culture initiatives
Support company-wide HR initiatives and implement them effectively at the plant level
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
Proven experience handling employee relations and performance management
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting
Preferred
HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
Experience supporting multi-shift operations
