Primary Purpose and Functions

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for purchasing, costing and moving products to warehouses across the country. This role includes managing inventory, coordinating logistics and building strong supplier relationships. It also plays a large role in problem-solving, data analysis and building relationships to improve the overall supply chain performance for the company.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock to maintain appropriate levels.
  • Work with sales to forecast demand and avoid stockouts or overstocking.

· Logistics Coordination

· Manage the movement of product from suppliers to warehouses including transportation and any additional costs.

  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure performance and resolve issues.
  • Cost Control & Analysis
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate supplier costs and communicate cost changes through the price change process.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier contracts.

Skills Required

  • Supply Chain Management: Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Inventory Management: Expertise in managing inventory levels, forecasting, and optimizing stock.
  • Logistics: Knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and distribution practices.
  • Procurement: Skills in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex supply chain issues.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant software, such as ERP systems, supply chain management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related field or equivalent work experience

· 2-5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in distribution or manufacturing

· Previous experience working with ERP systems, our current system is Infor CloudSuite Distribution

· Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office, above average knowledge of Excel

Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
