Someone who is detail-oriented, technically strong in AutoCAD, and energized by both traditional drafting excellence and emerging AI-enabled design tools. Responsibilities and Duties
• Draft and prepare construction drawings from completion of the design phase through final construction documents and permit sets.
• Translate conceptual sketches into precise, coordinated working drawings.
• Execute architectural plan revisions and refinements as projects evolve.
• Coordinate building systems including structural, mechanical, plumbing, and civil consultants.
• Produce architectural deliverables for purchasing, estimating, construction, marketing, and sales.
• Provide plan clarification and distribute documentation to internal stakeholders.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance design exploration, visualization, documentation efficiency, and workflow optimization.
• Utilize AI for rapid concept iteration, rendering enhancement, and design analysis while maintaining architectural integrity and human-centered design principles.
• Update and manage assigned tasks within the Architecture Schedule.
• Represent the firm professionally in all internal and external communications.
• Complete additional responsibilities as needed in a collaborative small-firm environment.
Position Requirements
• 2-year associate degree required
• 4-year degree preferred but not required
• CAD drafting experience required
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, visualization software, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience taking design sketches through full working drawings
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design, rendering, or workflow tools preferred (or strong interest in learning and integrating them into practice)
• Strong written, graphic, and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail
• On-site role in Bellingham, WA
• Demonstrated passion for ideas and design
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000 – $80,000 per year
This compensation range is indicative of the role. Compensation offered is based on evaluation during the interview process, the candidate’s range and depth of experience, business and market financials, and internal pay parity.
