What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Teacher position at Carpe Diem Academy?
Carpe Diem Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our multidisciplinary team. This position requires a commitment to the full school year, including Extended School Year (ESY).
The ideal candidate has experience developing and implementing IEPs, differentiating instruction, creating individualized learning materials, and leading classroom staff. This role includes direct instruction, supervision of educational support staff, and collaboration with families and clinical providers.
You will work hand-in-hand with our ABA team, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Administration to develop and implement coordinated educational and behavioral goals that support each student's overall success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- Washington State Special Education Endorsement (Required)
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- ABA experience is a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
