Pre K-3 & 4 Child Care Teacher

Job description

Though much of the learning centers around play, the primary purpose of the educational program is to prepare students for kindergarten.

Teacher Responsibilities:

• Ensures children are closely supervised at all times.
• Follow and Maintain accurate attendance / tracking records at all times.
• Ensures that the classroom are maintained in a safe, clean, orderly condition and is in good repair
• Documents all injuries and medications in medical log using proper procedures.
• Follows child abuse and neglect policies and procedures.
• Sanitary conditions are maintained at all times; site cleaning responsibilities are required as applicable.
• All materials used for sanitation are kept out of the reach of the children.
• PLANNING FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE CHILD OUTCOMES:
• Implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum that reflects observations and assessments of individual children and goals.

Complete a weekly lesson plan.

• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must pass Health Assessment/TB test and criminal background check
• Available to work Monday - Friday, 8-5 or 9-6
• Ability to fully engage in physical activity, including kneeling, stooping, squatting, and standing for a majority of the day.
• At least 6 months previous experience working with children in a licensed or accredited day care/childcare center is REQUIRED

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
