SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Caron Engineering (CEI) is a small but growing company working in the global CNC machine industry. We develop and produce accessories that allow CNC machines to work smarter and more efficiently for some of the largest and most advanced companies in the world.
We are seeking a full-time Service Technician who would be responsible for assembling, installing, and field testing our products based on our customer’s requirements.
Any required training on these products and related services would be supplied by the company.
Requirements
· Must be willing and able to travel 75% of the time specifically in the northeast USA - (New England, New York, New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania)
· Must be willing to fly to other parts of the country as well
· Must relocate to the Wells, Maine area
· Able to work four (4) 10-hour days (Monday – Thursday) per week with Fridays off
Salary & Benefits
· Starting salary of $45,000 to $65,000 dependent on experience and education
· Performance-goals based salary increases of $10,000 per year for the first 3 years resulting in salary of $75,000 to $95,000 in fourth year

Roles & Responsibilities
· Assembly, installation & testing of all CEI sold products:
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to prep systems for upcoming installations including physical assembly, software loading, and the maximum shop testing; comfortable with diagnostic tools and documentation
· Learn the detailed technical specifications of CEI sold products enough to be able to install, configure, test, and train while “solo” at a customer’s site
· Able to perform wiring, mechanical, and light construction
· Adherence to CEI/OSHA/Industrial safety protocols
· Inventory and Tracking System – must learn it to process orders
· Communications – must communicate accurately and pleasantly with CEI office team and on-site customer contacts to support any Q&A or trouble-shooting (on-site or phone/email); solid verbal and written skills are necessary
· Comfortable with accurately tracking and reporting all time and expenses for customer visits and shop work
· A pleasant personality is necessary as you spend a lot of time at customer locations
· Comfortable with handling all travel arrangements including hotels, your personal automobile, and commercial flights

Qualifications
· High school diploma or the equivalent; at least 18 years of age
· Metal working skills, comfortable with hand/power tools of all types
· Basic math skills
· Basic PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook/calendar, Internet, software installations)
· Nice to Have:
· Related post high school degree (e.g., Mech/Elec Engineering Technology degree)
· Solid background/education in the electrical/mechanical trades
· CNC machining and/or CNC macro programming experience
· Experience in manufacturing
· Physical Requirements:
· Manual and visual dexterity to assemble small parts and products
· Gross strength required to lift a 70-pound travel kit into and out of an automobile trunk
· Extended periods of standing at a workstation
Travel
· Maintain an active driver’s license and a usable automobile (presentable, registered, insured, secure) for remote work assignments
· Caron Engineering pays mileage at the standard IRS rate for personal car travel
· All travel expenses are covered by a corporate (CEI) credit card with no out-of-pocket expenses that need to get reimbursed
· All hotel points and flight miles are yours to keep for personal use
· Year-end bonus money or additional time off for every night you stay in a hotel; points are tallied at the end of each calendar year
