Physician Administrator, Behavioral Health

CaroMont Medical Group, an affiliate of CaroMont Health, is offering a 1 day per week opportunity for an experienced psychiatrist. This is an employed position with our Behavioral Health Service Line in Gaston County, North Carolina.

Qualifications:

1. Board Certified and practicing psychiatrist or board-eligible if within 3 years of completion of residency/fellowship training.
2. Must hold a valid NC medical license to practice and be practicing full time at CaroMont.
3. Demonstrated success and experience in previous practice, academic. and/or medical staff leadership roles is preferred.
4. Firm commitment to high reliability and patient safety.
5. Strong collaborative and collegial leadership style allowing comfort working with other medical specialties, nursing, and administration.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide overall professional direction and oversight of clinical services delivered in inpatient Behavioral Health.
2. Provide direct support and participate in initiatives to improve patient and staff satisfaction.
3. Work cooperatively and collegially to advise and consult with Medical Staff members and administration regarding concerns related to Behavioral Health.
4. Demonstrate and support a commitment to High Reliability to achieve zero harm by leading departmental performance improvement and quality assurance, and implementation of clinical care pathways.
5. Review and implement clinical practice policies and procedures and guidelines for Behavioral Health as required or directed by CaroMont Senior Leadership.
6. Help direct education, training, maintenance of and monitoring competencies for physicians, advanced practice providers and students.
7. Direct participation in the Behavioral Health Service Line and other Committees as deemed appropriate.
8. Respond to and assist in the management of care-related issues.
9. Provide oversight of Behavioral Health credentialing, privileging and peer review.
10. Direct involvement in Behavioral Health Strategic planning in hiring, onboarding, traiing, and retention of care providers.
11. Support Behavioral Health Service Line growth initiatives.
12. Help adjudicate CPA issues related clinical care and professionalism according to CaroMont Health policies, Bylaws and Code of Conduct
13. Oversee provider call schedules for the group and help resolve call-related concerns.
14. Supervises APPs in close collaboration with the Lead PHMNP and helps develop plans to ensure supervision is available to APPs in all areas of IP services, by collaborating with other psychiatrists within the service line.
15. Collaborates closely with BHSL nursing leadership to ensure quality care on inpatient units.
16. Participates in quality initiatives to improve care in BHSL hospital programs.
17. Engage in service recovery activities as needed.
18. Works closely with the Acute Care Service Line to improve care for Behavioral Health patients across service lines.
19. Partner and coordinate with CMG practice leadership and staff to improve daily operations and resolve practice-related concerns.
20. Reports to VP of Physician Services
