Criminal Defense Paralegal

The Paralegal is an integral position in our office and is the first contact when gathering information from potential and current clients. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to use computers and technology in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be able to pay scrupulous attention to detail while under time-constraints. We are looking for individuals with a strong desire to help our clients and a willingness to contribute toward the success of the office. Job duties will change regularly but may include any or all of the following:

• Ensuring client satisfaction in person, via phone, and/or electronically
• Maintaining client records and responding to client questions
• Gathering and organizing client documents
• Maintaining court calendars and schedules
• Drafting legal documents under the supervision of attorney

Ideal candidates should possess the following:

• Previous experience as a Paralegal is required.
• Familiarity with family law and criminal law is highly desirable.
• Excellent Interpersonal Skills
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
• Commitment to working as part of team
• Dependable, flexible, energetic and hardworking
• Willingness to learn
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook is preferred
• English/Spanish Bilingual is preferred

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
