The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Controller will play a key role in the credit union’s success by leading the daily operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
To Qualify for this position, You’ll Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in accounting or finance within a financial institution or corporate environment.
- Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems, financial regulations, and GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial planning software, and general ledger systems.
- Familiarity with credit union regulations, accounting terminology, and systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred or to be obtained within five (5) years of hire.
- Experience with NCUA reporting and credit union financial systems is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills with attention to detail and accuracy
