Yard Attendant
Reports To: Director of Operations
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Full-time
Position Location: King George, VA
Overview:
The Yard Attendant works to maintain traffic control equipment, deliver equipment, paint concrete barrier walls and maintain company grounds. This position requires some travel in company vehicles. Employees will train under area supervisors to learn how to deploy and service our different pieces of equipment. There will also be opportunities for equipment operator training, forklift training, OSHA training and other job-related skills.

Daily Duties:
- Fulfill orders.
- Check equipment in and out.
- Maintain inventory.
- Load and offload equipment.
- Deliver & retrieve equipment from customer projects.
- Travel in company vehicle to repair or diagnose equipment.
- Program, maintain and repair company traffic control equipment and other similar equipment.
- Assist in loading and painting concrete barrier wall.
- Focus on safety as the main priority.
- Work in a shop environment.
- Comply with OSHA safety laws and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

- Knowledge of local, state, and federal property and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently, as well as within a cross-functional team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Sit, walk, kneel, bend, crawl, and crouch for extended periods of time.
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of machines or vehicles to exact positions.
- Ability to judge the distances between you and an object, depth perception.
- Ability to respond to a signal when it appears, reaction time.
- Coordinate the use of hands, arms, and legs fully. Reach for the handle and use it to manipulate objects and materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Vision – the ability to see details at close range and details at distance (either naturally or with correction).
- Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Mental and visual attention is necessary to effectively complete work tasks.
- Work outside and be exposed to the weather.
- Wear protective or safety equipment, i.e. safety boots/shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, etc.
- May be exposed to high levels of noise, grease, dust, and a variety of substances that are typically associated with a construction site.
