Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this candidate will be responsible for the following:
Sell and order new or used buses and maintain customer relationships:
This candidate will identify new potential customers and serve existing customers selling new school and commercial products. He or she is responsible for achieving individual unit goals and maintaining market share goals set by management. This person will become proficient in all bus ordering and procurement systems. He or she will work with the sales coordinator to ensure vehicles are ready for customer delivery.
Fleet Electrification:
Should a customer desire to electrify their fleet, this candidate will guide both bus purchase and infrastructure requirements to ensure a successful electrification project.
Search and identify new or used vehicles for purchase and resale:
This candidate will oversee the purchase of used buses found in the territory, arrange for payment and pickup of these vehicles, and be responsible for the processing of used vehicles for resale.
Assist with the generation of state contracts and bid submittals
This candidate will help review bids, generate quotes and seat plans, assist with costing, pricing, markup, and options for bids. This person will be present at all bus deliveries. Candidate must maintain positive relationships with customer accounts with goal of retaining existing buses and building new business relationships.
Schedule and process information required for state and industry conferences;
This person will be responsible for attending state and industry conferences, entertaining customers and representing Carolina Thomas in a positive and professional manner. He or she may be asked to assist with any trade show requirements deemed necessary for positive Carolina Thomas promotion.
Minimum Requirements:
4-year college degree or commensurate experience. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills are a necessity. Above average computer skills are required. Systems used: RACE, Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and internal operating system (Procede). The ability to work independently as well as with other people and while managing internal and external projects and dealing positively with customers is required. The ability to work in inside and outside environments continuously is necessary. A valid CDL driver’s license is required. Candidate must maintain a positive attitude even in the face of adverse sales environments.
Abilities Required:
Must be able to travel and stay away from home as needed. This position requires the ability to learn and gain a thorough knowledge of different makes of buses.
