Carolina School of Massage seeks candidates who exhibit and understanding and commitment to the school mission, and who have a passion for commitment to student success. The position encompasses the following professional responsibilities and competencies.
Qualification for Instructors
- Educational and/or instructional preparation in anatomy and/or biology required. Minimum Bachelor's degree required.
- Demonstrate an ability to adapt to the learning styles and needs of diverse student populations who have not been exposed to a wide range of science courses.
- Demonstrate and ability to use a variety of teaching strategies and technologies that encourage retention while successfully challenging diverse student populations.
- Show evidence of desire and ability to take leadership roles within the school.
- Show evidence of an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Show evidence of understanding and/or experience developing student assessments.
- Teaching experience required.
Instructor Expectations
- Commitment to the mission and objectives of Carolina School of Massage.
- Ability to create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction.
- Ability to effectively engage with and facilitate authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, ages and experiences.
- Coordinate with the Massage Therapy Instructor concerning muscle identification and palpation.
- Follow the Anatomy syllabus as provided by the administration.
- Provide periodic anatomy practice to students for the MBLEx.
- Keep detailed grade sheets and submit a final average to the administration upon completion of the course.
General Expectations
- Give students the education you would like to receive.
- Creating content for students.
- Keep up with all of student's hours.
- Contract workers are expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, instructors must work harmoniously with students, faculty, staff and the public. Instructors will follow, and enforce all CSM policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position.'
