SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Delivery Driver is to deliver, merchandise, and service accounts in the assigned route, while maintaining the quality of our products and promoting a safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent company in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist in promotion of safe work practices to include frequent behavior-based safety observations.
  • Is familiar with and certified to use all types of delivery equipment, pallet jacks, docks and dock-levelers, trucks and trailers per company and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a friendly, working relationship with all account personnel.
  • Communicate effectively to resolve customer problems, opportunities, and competitive activity in your market.
  • Prepare invoice, collect payment from customers and record transactions on customer receipt.
  • Check in product with Store Manager, following store policy.
  • Restock displays, coolers, and cold box following company rotation standards.
  • Maintain clean and safe working equipment and complete the FMCSR approved inspection report daily.
  • Transport product and merchandise between company locations and from suppliers as needed or assigned.
  • Maintain safe driving record and comply with company driving policy.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and company functions as required.
  • Adhere to dress code, including safety non-negotiables, and be properly groomed at all times.
  • Obey all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
Basic training in an office or operations. Knowledge of basic office software and office technology, or warehouse/delivery technology. First-line production supervisors over semi-skilled operations, and the like. Equivalent to 1-3 practical trades or training

Over 6 months up to and including 12 months

MENTAL/VISUAL/AUDITORY DEMAND
Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Undesirable working conditions. Exposed to noise, dust, heat, oils, fumes, and other elements with one continuously present to the extent of being disagreeable, or with several elements present to the extent of being disagreeable but usually not more than one at a time.

Works with materials or product where errors usually would be detected and could be re-worked without major loss of materials.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY OF OTHERS
Safety of others depends entirely on correct action of employee on job being rated; accidents, should they occur, may result in total disability or death.

HAZARDS
Injuries, should they occur, may result in loss of time, due to crushed hand or foot, loss of fingers or toes, eye injuries, chemical burns, etc.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CDL-A License and ABC Beer permit required, as well as a driving record (MVR) within Company Driving Points Policy.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Requires the ability to read, write, complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

A job description, by its nature, cannot include every aspect of the job. Because of this, any function that would reasonably fall under the responsibility of the Delivery Driver is assumed and it is expected that the Delivery Driver will act accordingly. The Delivery Driver will be expected to perform any other task not included in this job description requested by management.

  • Equivalent to 1-3 practical trades or training
  • Over 6 months up to and including 12 months
  • Internal candidates must have a recommendation from their manager or department head.
