Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical controls, PLCs, motors, and industrial automation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, equipment, and controls.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues involving motors, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment.
- Install and maintain conduit, wiring, panels, transformers, and switchgear.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components up to 480 volts.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, lockout/tagout, and company safety policies.
- Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate documentation.
- Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and on-call rotation as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in Industrial Electricity or Electrical Technology preferred.
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent industrial experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3β5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Three-phase electrical systems
- Motors and motor controls
- Industrial automation and control systems
- Electrical distribution systems up to 480V
- Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment, meters, and diagnostic tools.
- Welding and mechanical troubleshooting experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and production environments.
