What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI / Front Office Assistant - Greenville SC position at Carolina Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Associates?
The MRI Imaging Assistant will assist our MRI Technologists in taking medical histories, positioning patients for exams, coordinating patient flow, exam room preparation, and will work as part of the team to ensure high-quality, safe patient care. The Assistant will also help with daily operational duties needed in the MRI Department. The candidate must be detail-oriented, be able to multitask, be a team player, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
The Front Office Float provides knowledge of all front office positions and duties. The employee will provide coverage where needed. This will include check-in/out, phones, and referrals
Hours
Monday through Thursday: 10 am to 7 pm
Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Saturday: 8 am to 1 pm - 2 days out of the month

Essential Functions:
- Checking patients in / out and scheduling follow-up appts
- Collecting new patient paperwork or an electronic version and updating it in the system
- Verify patients' insurance
- Collecting payments (copays, balances, MRI payments, online payments, and surgery payments)
- Keeping track of all money in the cash drawer and all payments
- Answering incoming calls/help check-in/sort, and scan records
- The MRI Assistant will help escort patients to the MRI Department and dressing room.
- The MRI Assistant will also help with all patient paperwork and data entry required in the MRI Department.
- The Assistant will also help with daily operational duties needed in the MRI Department.
Work Experience/Required Experience:
- High School Diploma (Required)
- 1 year of previous medical office experience (preferred)
