Maintenance Technician

Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Major Responsibilities

• Performs general preventative maintenance on various commercial and residential systems to support the efficient operation of the campus.
• Troubleshoots and repairs/replaces thermostats, air handling units, coils, condensers, and operational components necessary to the proper functioning of HVAC heat-pump, hydronic, & gas systems.
• Performs general plumbing repairs working with PVC, ABS, PEX & copper, as well as replaces plumbing fixtures, hot water tanks, toilets, sinks, drains, valves and controls. Identifies and replaces/repairs leaks to pipes and valves, as necessary.
• Performs medium duty electrical work such as working with 208 3ph, AC/DC currents; repairs/replaces electrical outlets and switches, disconnects, motors, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, fuses, and other electrical components within scope of ability.
• Installs and repairs residential and commercial appliances.
• Identifies inventory or supplies needed and notifies the Purchasing Manager of needs.
• Serves as daytime Security as needed and scheduled, rotating weekends, carrying the pager daily and responding to emergency calls in a timely manner.
• Removes snow and ice in the winter and responds to other weather-related situations year-round that require attention for the safety of the campus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Three (3) to five (5) years maintenance combined with HVAC/electrical/plumbing experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Incumbent should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess verbal and written communication ability, as well as basic math skills.
• Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills committed with a commitment to providing service excellence.
• Must be proficient in the operation of computer applications, maintenance equipment such as basic tools, ladders, plumbing tools etc.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to respond as needed to all campus emergency situations. to include off-hours events.

Job Type: Full-time
