Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Paralegal with a strong interest in supporting nonprofit organizations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in representing nonprofit organizations and charitable entities
- Prepare, review, and file legal documents, including formation documents, bylaws, contracts, and compliance filings
- Support clients with nonprofit formation (including 501(c)(3) applications) and corporate governance matters
- Conduct legal research related to nonprofit law, tax-exempt status, and regulatory compliance
- Maintain client files, track deadlines, and ensure accurate documentation
- Communicate professionally with clients, offering a high level of service and responsiveness
- Assist with contracts, employment matters, and risk management issues for nonprofit clients
- Stay current on laws and regulations affecting nonprofit organizations
Qualifications
- 2 years of paralegal experience preferred (nonprofit or corporate law experience a plus)
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
