Role Description The Medical Assistant is a full-time, on-site role located in Asheville, NC. This position supports clinicians by preparing exam rooms, taking and documenting vital signs, reviewing medications, and assisting with examinations and minor procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, updating medical records, managing phone calls and messages, and supporting front desk tasks such as scheduling and check-in/check-out as needed. The Medical Assistant also assists with lab work, immunizations, and diagnostic testing, while following clinical protocols, infection control procedures, and privacy regulations. This role works closely with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and other staff to ensure efficient, compassionate patient care.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including clinical support, vitals, and exam preparation.
- Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately document and communicate patient information.
- Experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, patient flow management, and basic administrative tasks.
- Commitment to high-quality Patient Care, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and patient education.
- Ability to accurately manage Medical Records, including electronic health records (EHR) documentation and data integrity.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification or registration as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
