Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical histories
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Utilize EMR systems for documentation review and patient management
- Follow infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in general dentistry settings
- Take and review dental radiographs
- Stay updated on dental terminology, dental imaging, and dental coding practices
Skills
- Proficiency in Dentrix software systems
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to dental health
- Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction
- Understanding of dental terminology related to dental procedures
- Experience in a dental office or clinic environment is required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Dental Hygiene License
- CPR Certification
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
