This role ensures high-quality seals, meets production targets, and maintains safety standards in a manufacturing environment. Common products include medical devices, inflatable items, automotive components, tarps, banners, protective covers, and packaging.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and calibrate RF Sealing machines according to production specifications, including adjusting power levels, dwell time, and pressure. Load materials (such as vinyl, PVC, or other films) onto the machine, position them correctly in the sealing area, and initiate the RF welding cycle.
Monitor machine operation during the sealing process, watching for proper heat application, cycle completion, and any irregularities.
Inspect finished products for seal quality, strength, appearance, and defects (e.g., burns, weak bonds, or inconsistencies); perform quality checks using visual inspection, pull tests, or leak tests as required.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues, such as alignment problems, electrode wear, or inconsistent seals. Perform routine preventive maintenance on RF equipment, including cleaning electrodes, checking generators, and ensuring proper grounding and shielding.
Follow work orders, blueprints, or production schedules to meet daily output targets while minimizing waste and scrap. Record production data, including output quantities, quality metrics, downtime, and any maintenance performed.
Adhere to all safety protocols, especially regarding RF radiation hazards (e.g., stepping back from the machine during the sealing cycle when required, using barriers or shields). Work collaboratively with team members, including paired operators for larger or shuttlestyle machines.
Assist with material handling, changeovers between jobs, and general housekeeping in the production area.
