Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, NC, for a Substance Abuse Counselor. The counselor will be responsible for providing professional addiction counseling services that include creating and implementing individualized treatment plans, supporting clients with relapse prevention strategies, and assisting with group facilitation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years experience working in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or co-occurring disorders preferred
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria, biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, utilization review processes, and clinical documentation standards
- Strong understanding of relapse prevention, recovery-oriented systems of care, and trauma-informed treatment approaches
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in an on-site setting
- Certifications or licensure in substance abuse counseling, social work, or a related field
