Grief Counselor
Carolina Caring is seeking a skilled and compassionate Grief Counselor to support grieving adults, children, and families as they navigate the loss of a loved one. The Hospice Bereavement Counselor provides individual counseling, facilitates support groups, and participates in community grief education initiatives. This role is essential in delivering comprehensive bereavement services that reflect the mission of Carolina Caring, ensuring support is provided with sensitivity, cultural awareness, and respect for each person’s unique experience of grief.
This position will support Mecklenburg and Gaston counties.
Key Responsibilities:

Complete bereavement assessments and develop individualized care plans

Collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team to identify and support high-risk family members

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards

Assist with planning and participating in Remembrance Events, children’s grief camps, and other supportive community programs
This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
