What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator - B Shift (Days) position at Carolina Beverage?
Our Opportunity: Machine Operator
Status: Full Time Day Shift
Hours: 12-hour shift - 7a-7p
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)
Summary:
Under the direction of production lead & supervisor, our machine operators work within our beverage manufacturing production facility alongside other team members to safely & efficiently operate production line equipment to produce quality popular beverage products for the consumer.
What You Will Be Doing
- Keeps machine operating
- Maintains upkeep of machine and work area
- Ensures quality of work and product
- Keeps accurate logs
- Documentation of materials
- Documentation of sanitation
- Other duties may be assigned
What You Need to Bring
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Requires consistently being on time & having good attendance is expected
- Flexibility to assist where needed, whether this be on assigned line or machine or another
- Must be able to stand for entire shift minus breaks on concrete flooring
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. or as specifically required for position, listed below
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. or as specifically required for position, listed below
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Regularly required to climb or balance
- Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Operator positions available & additional specific requirements:
Filler Operator
- High speed pace. Filling machine with material every 30 seconds.
- Machines linked to each other must work together to keep line running.
- Increased sanitation requirements since open product area.
Casepacker/Multipacker Operator
- High speed pace. Feeding machine material every 90 seconds.
- Machines linked to each other must work together to keep the line running.
- Must be able to frequently lift 30 lbs. of materials at a time.
- Must be able to adjust 175 lb. reels of film on roller.
- On occasion, must bend all the materials to accommodate the machine.
- Mechanically inclined since this machine is the most mechanical of our machines.
Depal/Palletizer Operator
- Multi-tasking skills - running two machines at once at high-speed pace.
- Machines linked to each other so must work together to keep line running.
- Frequent stair usage machines are at a height of at least 20 feet above ground level.
- Assisting the auto material feed every 8 minutes.
- Mostly automated so must be able learn sequence and get machine back in time.

The employee is occasionally exposed to work in wet, humid, or outdoor conditions, with extreme cold or heat, with fumes or airborne particles; near toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
