What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Clerk position at Carolina Auto Auction, Inc?
Carolina Auto Auction is a family owned and operated business in Williamston, SC. We have been serving the automobile dealers and finance companies since 1969 and in SC since 1989. We believe in providing a superior customer experience for everyone that walks through our doors. We are one of the largest independent auctions in the Southeast United States. Most auto auctions are similar but at Carolina Auto Auction we believe our team of talented individuals is what sets up apart in our industry.
As an account receivable clerk your responsibility will be to process incoming payments. Process bank deposits. Maintain dealer and commercial accounts. You will also be expected to help with other office functions including but not limited to answering phones, taking payment, customer service and cross training.
Your essential functions will include but are not limited to:
- Assume all data related to the accounting function is confidential and private. Maintain discretion regarding all company data.
- Input customer receipts and verify accuracy.
- Coordinate bank deposits.
- Email past due customer statements and send pay links.
- Provide necessary information to collection agency when accounts are turned over.
- Help on the front counter as needed.
- Provide relief for the switchboard operator as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Answer calls for the business office pool line.
- Enter gas charges and transportation charges.
- Manage deposits to the operating account.

- Follow through – Ability to follow the process flow for timely payment of accounts and filing to maintain physical files.
- Communication – Ability to communicate with vendors and other employees in a professional manner to accomplish essential functions.
