Accounting Assistant

Carolina Auto Auction is a family owned and operated business in Williamston, SC. We have been serving the automobile dealers and finance companies since 1969 and in SC since 1989. We believe in providing superior customer experience for everyone that walks through our doors. We are one of the largest independent auctions in the Southeast United States. Most auto auctions are similar but at Carolina Auto Auction we believe that our team of talented individuals is what sets us apart in our industry.

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations by completing reconciliations, preparing journal entries, compiling reporting data, and providing backup support to accounts payable. This role requires accuracy, discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to manage changing priorities in a growing environment.

Core Responsibilities

·        Maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling all information.

·        Perform daily and monthly reconciliations for multiple bank and credit card accounts.

·        Complete daily and weekly reconciliations of various expenses.

·        Identify returned banking items and communicate them promptly.

·        Prepare and enter journal entries, including labor distribution and sales journal entries.

·        Provide full back up support for accounts payable as needed.

·        Periodically reconcile balance sheet and expense accounts.

·        Extract and organized system information for management as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

·        Working knowledge of basic accounting principles.

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills with team members and external parties.

·        Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn accounting software.

·        Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and shift priorities as requested.

·        Sound judgment, analytical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.

·        Flexibility to learn and adapt to new systems as the organization grows and evolves.

Education & Experience

·        2 years of related experience preferred.

·        Certifications and Degrees a plus.

Full-Time           Monday -Friday Approximately 37-39 hours weekly

Monday 9:00-5:00pm

Tuesday 8:30-5:00pm

Wednesday 8:00-5:30pm

Thursday 8:00-5:00pm

Friday 9:00-5:00pm

Occasionally may require more hours.
