Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital (CASE) is seeking an experienced Full-Time Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative (CSR) to become the welcoming face of our hospital and an essential member of our Emergency and Specialty team.

This is not an entry-level position.

We're looking for an experienced veterinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, communicates with empathy and confidence, and understands how exceptional client service directly impacts patient care.

What You’ll Do


Deliver Exceptional Client Service

As one of the first and last people our clients interact with, you'll help create a compassionate, organized, and supportive experience during some of the most emotional moments of pet ownership.

Responsibilities include:
  • Welcome clients and patients with professionalism, empathy, and compassion
  • Answer high-volume phone calls while prioritizing urgent patient needs
  • Coordinate Emergency walk-ins and Specialty appointments
  • Accurately register patients and maintain electronic medical records
  • Collect patient histories and verify client information
  • Process invoices, payments, deposits, and financial transactions
  • Communicate clearly with veterinarians and technicians regarding patient flow
  • Provide updates, discharge instructions, and follow-up communication
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
  • Support efficient hospital workflow through teamwork and collaboration

What We’re Looking For


  • Minimum 2 years of Veterinary Receptionist, Veterinary Client Service Representative, or Veterinary Medical Reception experience
  • Previous experience working in a Veterinary Hospital
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during busy or emotionally challenging situations
  • Comfortable using multiple computer systems and veterinary software
  • Emergency Veterinary Hospital experience
  • Specialty Veterinary Hospital experience
  • Experience with ezyVet, Instinct, Cornerstone, AVImark, or similar veterinary software
  • Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and client education
Schedule

This is a Full-Time opportunity.
Schedule includes:
  • Weekday evening shifts
  • Rotating weekend schedule
  • Rotating holidays shared fairly among the team
  • Flexible availability to support hospital operations
Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Working in a Specialty and Emergency hospital is rewarding, fast-paced, and hands-on.

Team members should be able to:
  • Sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout an entire shift
  • Lift up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance
  • Assist with patient transport when needed
  • Work around animals of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Safely work around animal dander, fur, saliva, urine, feces, blood, disinfectants, cleaning chemicals, and medical odors
  • Maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

About Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital

Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital is a multi-specialty practice with specialists in internal medicine, surgery, behavior, rehabilitation and 24-hour emergency and critical care housed in a beautiful newly built 12,000-square-foot hospital in Hickory, NC.

We have a spacious hospital with a fully staffed ICU with DVM and highly skilled 24 hr support team to manage a high volume patient case load with 12 exam rooms. In hospital we have comprehensive in house laboratory equipment that includes chemistry, cbc, epoc, blood gas, sedivue, fecal imagyst, telecytometry, ability to have consultation and recommendation from boarded radiologist and clinical pathologist for best in the moment patient care, oxygen therapy (multiple snyder icu cages and high flow). We have the ability to provide superior specialty care with computed tomography, fluoroscopy, digital radiology, color-flow doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, minimally invasive surgical equipment, and comprehensive surgical instrumentation. We are able to provide radioactive iodine therapy for cats with hyperthyroidism and have a fully equipped rehabilitation suite with k- laser, e-stim, oasis underwater treadmill as well as exercise treadmill for assisting patients with pre and post op recovery.

We have a team of highly skilled board-certified specialists, emergency clinicians, veterinary technicians, and support staff that believe in compassionate care, always being prepared, supportive, excellence and quality in everything we do for our patients and encourage individuals who embrace a fast-paced atmosphere with honesty, positive attitude and transparency.
