Position Overview

The Head Sew 1 is responsible for sewing buckram into the top of drapery panels in a production environment. This role ensures each piece is completed accurately and meets quality standards. The work directly supports daily production goals and on-time order completion.

What you'll do

• Sew buckram into the head of drapery panels using an industrial sewing machine
• Read and follow work tickets for measurements and special instructions
• Move joined draperies from racks to work tables for processing
• Inspect finished panels to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
• Send completed draperies to the Head Prep department
• Operate sewing machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Perform other production-related duties as assigned
• All other duties as assigned

Who you are

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous sewing experience; industrial sewing machine experience preferred
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately
• General knowledge of fabrics and material handling
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with names, numbers, and measurements
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Physically able to sit for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• Comfortable performing repetitive hand, wrist, and finger motions
• Successfully pass a color vision test
• Dependable, focused, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment
