Position Overview
The Trim and Square position plays a key role in the production process by receiving joined fabric and accurately trimming it to specific measurements.
What you'll do
- Receive joined fabric from joiners and inspect for straight hems and proper pattern alignment.
- Read work tickets carefully to determine shade type and required measurements.
- Trim fabric accurately to specified dimensions.
- Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE; report any unsafe conditions or defective equipment.
- Use tools like staple guns and saws safely; wear safety glasses when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; participate in daily housekeeping.
- Unplug irons, drills, and return tools to designated spots at the end of each shift.
- Report all near misses, accidents, or injuries immediately to your supervisor.
Who you are
- High school graduate
- Ability to use and read a tape measure
- General knowledge of fabrics
- Ability to use production equipment
- Ability to use hand tools
- Successfully pass color blind test
- Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time
- Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
- Strong attention to details
- Follow written and verbal instructions
