Spanish Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Spanish Teachers starting in Fall 2026 at an independent school in Spokane, WA.

Note: This role is currently 0.8 FTE (approximately 32 hours per week), with the potential to transition to a full-time position

Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teach several Spanish courses at various proficiency levels for students in grades 8-12.
• Teach Spanish language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Teaching students about Spanish culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
• Collaborate with faculty and department staff to build a strong, cohesive language program that meets the needs of K–8 students.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
• Assist with extracurricular activities and school community activities.

Spanish Teacher Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
• 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.

Additional Desired Qualities:

• Previous experience with International Baccalaureate (IB).
• Willingness to teach International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (DP) classes.
