Chinese Teacher Responsibilities:
- Teach several Mandarin courses across multiple proficiency levels for grades 6-12.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve course curriculum as needed.
- Utilize different teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
- Conducting research on teaching methods, digital materials, and language games that can be used in class.
- Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations.
- Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable.
- Providing suggestions for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling students.
- Serve as an advisor for students ensuring student success.
Chinese Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin language, literature, or an equivalent required. Master's degree preferred.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese required.
- 2 years of previous K-12 foreign language teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- Willingness to work with middle and high school students.
- Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
