Join Our Team as a Crew Leader - Irrigation!

Carney Irrigation and Lighting is seeking an experienced Irrigation Crew Leader to join our team based in Fredericksburg and serving Northern Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for directly supervising crew members to install commercial and residential automatic underground irrigation systems. The crew leader will be the machine operator and work alongside the team members to provide the leadership, experience, and skills necessary to deliver a quality finished product and excellent customer service. The crew leader is responsible for interaction with the customer, the safety of the team, and the success of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead a crew of 2-3 team members on a daily basis.

· Complete required documentation of time and materials used on a daily basis.

· Complete projects within budgeted hours and on schedule.

· Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.

· Drive the company vehicle and trailer along with other crew members to job sites.

· Ensure crew members perform their work safely and use all safety equipment, as directed.

· Understand and meet production schedule without sacrificing customer service or quality.

· Communicate project progress and changes to customers and management.

· Lead by example and help team members to grow and develop their skills.

· Build and uphold a culture of professionalism by adhering to the company's core values.

· Keep work vehicle and trailer clean and organized.

· Properly care for and maintain all equipment assigned to the crew.

Requirements:

· 3-5 years combined experience in landscape irrigation system installations, including experience operating a Vermeer PTX 42 or LM 42, or DitchWitch trencher/vibratory plow

· Have completed advanced irrigation industry training certificate (Preferred).

· Experience leading, organizing, and managing multiple people.

· Excellent working knowledge of equipment used in the industry.

· Must have the ability to read scaled drawings, along with good math skills

· Good understanding of hydraulics to determine proper flow and pipe sizing.

· Good communication skills. (Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred but not required.)

· Must have a valid driver’s license and a qualifying MVR for company auto insurance

· Ability to maintain a professional, positive, and charismatic demeanor at all times.

· Able to interact professionally with customers, team members, and others at all times.

Working conditions:

· Generally, M-F 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. with some Saturdays required during peak season.

· Required to work outdoors in seasonal weather conditions (inclement weather)
