Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated associate attorney with 1–3 years of experience to join our construction litigation team. This is an opportunity to work on complex disputes involving scope changes, liens, claims, and delays for a diverse client base in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts and related documents.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and manage all aspects of discovery, including e-discovery.
- Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation.
- Advise clients on regulatory compliance, risk management, and project delivery methods.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys, construction professionals, and clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Participate in depositions, arbitration, and/or trial as experience allows.
Qualifications
Required:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Washington State Bar and in good standing.
- 1–3 years of litigation experience, with a focus on construction litigation preferred.
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience with drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing clients in court.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and client service.
Preferred:
- Experience with depositions, arbitration, and/or trial.
- Familiarity with construction industry contracts (e.g., AIA forms) and litigation support tools.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make strategic decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
Compensation
- Competitive base salary: $160,000–$180,000, based on year classification.
- Performance and discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded.
